As we reach adulthood, it is common for us to notice floaters in our vision. Sometimes, the floaters may be accompanied by flashes of light. Usually, these are nothing more than an annoyance, but they may sometimes signal the development of a retinal tear or detachment. A dilated eye exam will help to determine whether a tear or detachment of the retina is present.
